Souzmoloko: TOP-30 milk producers in Russia increase production volumes by 300 thousand tons per year 

The TOP-30 players increased their volumes by 320 thousand tons for 2021. Such data were presented by the National Association of Milk Producers (Souzmoloko), Streda Consulting and Milknews during the presentation of the Rating of the largest Russian milk producers.

The first place for the past 5 years has been held by the Ekoniva Group (Ekosem-Agrar), which overcame the bar of production of more than 1 million tonnes of milk last year. Last year, the company grew by 192 thousand tons (60% of the total market increase) and reached 1,117 thousand tons. Ekoniva Group is one of the TOP-5 milk producers in the world now. 

The second and third places were held by the Firm "Agrocomplex" named after. N.I. Tkachev" (307 thousand tons) and "Rusmolco" (175 thousand tons), the fourth - the "Doronichi" (136 thousand tons). The Kirov Dairy Factory moved up to fifth place, with 120 thousand tons, while the Ak Bars Holding Company, dropped out of the tens this year.

Significant changes have also taken place in the TOP-10. The development of large investment projects immediately burst "Agropromkomplektatsiya" into 8th place with 113 thousand tons. In addition, Zelenaya Dolina Agricultural Holding entered the TOP-10, while the Krasny Vostok Agroholding restored its position in the ranking.

“2020 was hard for milk producers, who faced a rapid increase in costs, against the backdrop of rising prices for food, fuels and many other products,” Artem Belov, General Director of Souzmoloko. “After a tough 2020, we see most companies catching up last year and making big gains in milk yields – industry leaders are successfully working on business economics and improving their efficiency.”

The production of milk in the country continues to grow, due to the increase of rising milk prices and level of feeding quality.

Last year the increase was 1.1% - up to 23.8 million tons. The productivity of cows also continues to grow: if the average productivity for the country is 4,988 kg/year for 1 cow, then in big agricultural organizations it reaches the amount already 7,007 kg/year.
